SOUL Food Monologues Highlight Empowerment in Phillips Community Food Justice Movement

Hope Community spent the last two and a half years speaking with more than 400 Phillips Neighborhood residents about issues of food, land, and health justice. Their stories helped inform a report called Feed the Roots that that Hope will release Friday December 11 at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

Community members will also perform sections of The SOUL Food Monologues, a collection of personal narraitves about food justice directed by activist Ladonna Redmond.

A reception for the report’s release runs from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. A performance of The SOUL Food Monologues follows at 6:30 p.m. Tickets vary in pricing for the performance. More information available here.
