I hosted the Friday night program Radio Rumpus Room from May 1992 to May 2010, when I retired the show. RRR featured a diverse but weirdly thematic collection of musical genres: Surf, hot rod, Sixties garage, primal pop, psychedelic, and traditional and alternative country. The show had tilted punkier through 1994 — “Dropping the needle on everything from hillbilly to hardcore” — at which time Ron Thums joined me as a co-host and the format was tweaked to its final configuration.
Prior to RRR I hosted (or co-hosted) a number of latenight KFAI rock shows: the Morpheus Strip, Rodeo Peligroso and Nocturnal Emissions.
I co-hosted the Tuesday Morning Blend drivetime show from September 2012 to February 2016.
I continue to substitute-host music programs like the Pop Shop, Stone Soup and Good’n’Country as those opportunities arise.
KFAI has been on the air since 1978 and your involvement makes all the difference.
