Sunday, April 14: "KFAI Rocks" Post-Pledge Drive Benefit Rock Concert

Join us at "KFAI ROCKS", our post-pledge rock benefit concert.  Some of the Twin Cities hardest and most legendary rockers are donating their time and talents to help us raise funds for the station. Performers include The Mighty Mofos, Curtiss A & Dark Click, Gini Dodds, the Oddfathers, and Fret Rattles.  The party takes place Sunday, April 14th from 2:30-7:00 (doors open at 2:00) at The Amsterdam Bar & Hall in downtown St. Paul.

Always an entertaining performer, Curtiss A is both a musician and a visual artist. One of the original artists on the Twin Tone label, Curtiss A performs one of the most popular shows in the Twin Cities, an annual tribute to John Lennon held at First Avenue.

When the Punk rock scene was in full force in Minneapolis, The Mighty Mofos came along & kicked in the door. Hard rocking and satisfying, all players in the Mofos are excellent musicians and legends in their own right.

Gini Dodds sings from a woman's point of view, but her stories have such a timeless and universal quality that anyone who listens gets pulled in. The melodies alone, along with the sound of her distinctive voice, are enough to make you listen to what she has to say. Stylistically and vocally, she has been described as a cross between Chrissie Hynde and Lucinda Williams.

The Oddfathers are not: A silly tribute band. A cover band. Singer songwriters. Americana. Heavy metal. The Oddfathers are a ROCK band, period.

Fret Rattles have been around the rock and roll block. Collectively, these seasoned vets have been members of over twenty-five regional rock bands.

Suggested donation is $10 (of course, we'll gladly accept more).

The Amsterdam Bar & Hall is located at 6th St. and Wabasha Ave. in downtown St. Paul.  Free parking on St. Paul City Streets
