Michael Scott stops in to talk about his newest novel The Sorceress, the third book in his Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series. In case you’ve never heard of Nicholas Flamel, he was a real 14th century bookseller and alchemist who was rumored to have discovered the philosopher’s stone, alluded to in the first Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
Also in this show, literary agent and writing coach Scott Edelstein is in the studio to take us well into the 21st century. He talks about how the web is dramatically changing book publishing, the role of print on demand and self-publishing, and of course Kindle. And he and Michael Scott engage in a little debate over the possibility that big box discount stores will sell bestselling novels below cost.
