We welcome the month of May with several songs about May and springtime. The major part of the program contains songs with an ecological message: Like a Tree, Who Killed Grandma? Let’s Go to the Country and then a haunting song with the sounds of whales calling out (The White Paradise)
In celebration of the “Marimba 2010 International Congress and Conference,” the first ½ hour consists of marimba music from Mexico and Guatemala. The second ½ hour includes music in celebration of International Workers’ Day. The last ½ hour presents Vallenatos from Colombia and the last 8 minutes include a short story (“Los jueves”) by the Mexican writer Mónica Lavín.
