Making Waves on the River Again

How would the Mississippi River look if it was allowed to flow naturally down the hundred-foot drop between downtown Minneapolis and Fort Snelling?

Ron Way is a former staffer for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the U.S. Department of the Interior, and has done environmental reporting for several Midwest newspapers.

Way says the Mississippi in the metro area could become a kayaker’s paradise, revitalize the tourist draw to the river, and keep the carp downstream for good. He spoke with KFAI’s Paul Brohaugh, who asked him to describe his vision for the river.
