Quinn Villagomez (she/her)
Quinn Villagomez is a host of Fresh Fruit focusing on Queer/Trans artists of color. She has led the KFAI Board of Directors’ Social Justice Committee and the International Women’s Day programming committee, and is the creator of The Purple Ones Prince-inspired fashion show. She is an openly transgender Latina woman of color living her passion for radio and media. She advocates for social justice and seeing that marginalized and communities of color are given opportunities throughout the arts and media.
Margaret Sullivan (she/her)
Ms Margaret is the creator of talk radio show Ms Margaret Live tagline “A Seat At The Table For Those On The Menu”, and is an advocate and organizer within the Twin Cities area specializing in civic engagement & education reform. The St. Paul native is a graduate of Fisk University in Nashville (Business Administration/Music Business) and St. Paul Central High. She is new to the KFAI Board of Directors in 2020.
Bianca “BLovely” Rhodes (she/her)
Bianca A. Rhodes is an Emmy award winning Media Professional and proud Cum Lade graduate of St. Cloud State University with a degree in Mass Communication. Currently, Rhodes is the Production & Sponsorship Coordinator for the Saint Paul Neighborhood Network and Associate Producer for WCCO’s Emmy Nominated Urban Affairs Show Urban Perspectives. In her spare time, she works with Youth who are interested in creating documentaries and music videos.
Jacque Pokorney (she/her)
Jacque Pokorney is current Board President of KFAI Community Radio. She has served on the board since January 2014, and in community radio as a volunteer since 2000. She loves KFAI for the diversity of the communities and voices we represent, especially our immigrant communities. Her first love is local news and public affairs but has since fallen for the amazing local musical talent and diverse music programs at KFAI. She is passionate about our current board of directors and the important work we are doing to envision and move KFAI toward a financially secure and growing future.
David Orenstein (he/him)
David Orenstein is an attorney at the DeWitt law firm in Minneapolis. He joined the Board to use his legal skills to further the interests of KFAI, which has been one of his favorite radio stations for over 30 years. David is married with three grown children, and his passion is playing the trumpet.
Michael Milligan (he/him)
Michael Milligan is a member of the “metal crew” behind The Root of All Evil and other heavy overnight programs. He has served on the KFAI Board of Directors as Governance Committee chair and CAC Liaison, and is passionate about improving KFAI’s operations and developing sustainable governance that is responsive and inclusive of our diverse stakeholder communities. With deep professional experience in computational and internet technology, he is fascinated by the opportunities KFAI has to expand throughout the digital media landscape.
Sam Griffiths (he/him)
Sam Griffiths was a member of the KFAI board for two years. His career started in the aerospace industry, and over 20 years has spent seven years with the Better Business Bureau as a volunteer arbitrator and served as president and other offices on two other boards. His goal is to continue to find ways to make KFAI powerful locally and worldwide.
Ron Gerber (he/him)
Ron Gerber’s time in radio began in earnest in 1986 as a college student on WRUR/Rochester, NY, where he started Crap From The Past in 1992. After 21 years on KFAI Crap From The Past has been rebroadcast on affiliates across the United States, New Zealand, Germany, England, Singapore, and Brazil. He has previously served on the KFAI Board of Directors, including as Treasurer, and is passionate about stabilizing KFAI’s finances. He has authored two books about his experience in radio, including Between The Songs in 2017.
Chris Edwards (he/him)
Chris Edwards brings 15+ years of broadcast and cable TV experience to KFAI’s board of directors along with a strong knowledge of digital marketing and data analysis. Chris has been a volunteer for KFAI off and on since 1986. Over the years Chris has produced and substituted for Blues, Rock and Jazz programming on KFAI. He also engineered and announced for the KFAI news.
I’m Gabriel Rios, better known as DJ Gavilan here at KFAI, co-host Sabados Alegres on Saturday with Willie Dominquez playing the best in Tejano Music. I have been on the board for a year and have enjoyed the challenge.
I bring to the board an academic background and a passion for media, along with a sincere interest in helping others, I have an enhanced ability to manage a diverse range of challenging situations. I have strong communication, motivation, team building, liaison and leadership skills, as well as being bilingual.
I have been in the broadcasting and video production business for more the 25 years and have an Associate Degree at Brown College in TV and Radio Broadcasting. My passion is in creating animation, live streaming to Facebook or YouTube (with up to 4 cameras), video production and graphics. I also created an online radio broadcasting, Tejano Lippz Internet Radio.
