KFAI’s General Manager Leah Honsky has stepped down, effective Monday, June 24. Leah has led KFAI Fresh Air Radio since July 2015 — four full, invigorating years. She has been an able leader who brought with her an engaging personality unmatched by any. Leah will certainly be missed by the many Fresh Air volunteers and listeners she engaged with during her time here. We all wish her the best going forward.
In Leah’s own words:
“I’m so thankful for being able to spend the last four years at KFAI. It is a true gem of a station and I’m so excited to see what it evolves into as we embark on the next era of community radio stations. Thank you to our fantastic Board of Directors and our talented and passionate staff for being a great team to be a part of.”
KFAI volunteer Ron Thums will step away from the Board and serve as Interim General Manager in the near-term.
These are challenging times for nonprofits, especially community radio stations, and KFAI is no exception. This is why our coming one-week Summer Pledge Drive (July 31-August 6) will be so important. Mark your calendars for those dates and prepare to bring everything you’ve got to this critical fundraising effort. Additional details coming soon!
As always, thanks for being KFAI!
