Friday Night, August 14th: A P-Funkstravaganza Online

Tomorrow will be Friday Night, August 14th, the name of one of my favorite Funkadelic songs.

If you put together the complete official Parliament/Funkadelic discographies and toss in some of the side projects of the P-Funk universe, you end up with at least 24 hours of music. Of course, that’s not including the many hours of songs that sample from said universe.

We’re doing some experiments with setting up additional KFAI music streams with our friends over at Radio Rethink. One of those experiments will be to see if we can truly handle than much funk in a 24 hour period by diving into a full day of P-Funk.
You’ll find it in the Irregular Audio stream, our internet-only experimental sandbox for trying out weird ideas before they hit the air (or never hit the air). You can either click that link or just hit play on the website – the path to Irregularity is accessible by click the small radio tower at the bottom of the player. You can actually click this button at anytime and find something different from the main KFAI stream.

The funkin’ starts at midnight and goes til the next Midnight. Hell, maybe longer. Why not?
