“The Stairs” Film Screening & Discussion
"The Stairs" tells the story of Roxanne (pictured left), Marty, and Greg, who each survived decades of street involvement. Using their experiences to ease the paths of others, they perform social work and harm reduction in their old neighborhood, while struggling to maintain their newly found stability. Told over five years, this film examines life on society’s margins. Defying stereotypes in intimate portraits, its remarkable subjects are surprising, funny, shocking, and moving. Screening followed by a discussion with filmmaker Hugh Gibson and Roxanne Smith. Sponsored by Friends of the Hennepin County Library.
