Ice Cube’s popular BIG3 three on three basketball league announced today it has inked a new TV deal with CBS and CBS Sports. This will bring the BIG 3 games to the channels on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the duration of the summer. The season opening game will kickoff on CBS Television Network in prime time on Saturday June 22nd (8:00 PM, ET).
The BIG3 has been gaining more popularity since its launch in January of 2017. That year there was an average arena attendance of 11,000. That number grew to 14,000 in the 2018 season. The league will also be in 18 different cities this season . The previous 2 years has been 8 cities. The new teams this season will include the Triplets, Enemies, Aliens, and Bivouac. BIG3 also has major sponsorship agreements in place with Toyota and Honda. Activations will be happening all throughout this summer.
During this last off-season the BIG3 added many great players to the league, including Lamar Odom , Jason Terry Shannon Brown , Al Jefferson , Mario Chalmers just to name a few.
There will be many star players returning to the league this season including Amar’e Stoudemire , Nate Robinson , Metta World Peace , Jermaine Oneal .
Some of the coaching will be coming from some basketball legends that include Gary Payton , Rick Barry , Lisa Leslie , George “The Iceman ” Gervin , Julius “Dr. J.” Erving”, and Nancy Lieberman.
