CALL FOR PROPOSALS: Turtle Island – Voices Rising is coming back to KFAI – Fresh Air Community Radio!
KFAI is celebrating Indigenous Peoples Month with 24 hours of special programming by KFAI hosts and those who identify as members of the Twin Cities Indigenous diaspora on Friday, May 12th.
Interested parties can apply by completing this Google form. Please note that on-air shows are specifically reserved for Indigenous voices.
Shows can be presented live or recorded in advance. Let us know what assistance you need to bring your idea to fruition. No previous radio experience is necessary – equipment, training, and mentorship will be provided as needed. All languages are welcome.

Beginning at midnight on Saturday, February 26th, KFAI presents The Blacktivation – 25 Hours of Blackness to celebrate Black History Month. Enjoy a mixture of your favorite programs with familiar voices, along with additional special contributed programming from the local Twin Cities Black community.

William Matthew Little was active in civil right efforts for over sixty years. As president of the Minnesota chapter of the NAACP, He organized busloads of Minnesota activist for the historic 1963 March On Washington.
Matthew Little has rallied for continued support of affirmative action and desegregation of the Minnesota Public Schools. He supported the NAACP lawsuit against the government of Minnesota, which charged the public school system with failing to provide an equal education to all children.
Mr. Little cultivated a strong relationship and influence with the African American community and the business community and was instrumental in persuading the Minnesota Vikings management to hire Dennis Green as their first black head coach. In recognition of his accomplishments and contributions to his community, he received numerous awards. He was awarded an honorary doctor of laws degree from the University of Minnesota Law School

KFAI has a tradition of celebrating Black History Month each February with a full 24-hour day of programming by KFAI hosts who identify as Black and members of the Twin Cities Black and African Diasporic community. With your help, we also hope to expand the event to include additional community programming scheduled throughout the entire month. This event is to provide a platform for displaying the multitudes of real Black experiences and histories.
Program proposals are reserved for Black people/members of the African Diaspora. If you encompass one of the identities listed and are interested in participating, you can choose to get involved in a number of ways.
