KFAI BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING NOTICE FOR JULY 25, 2022

This month’s meeting of the Fresh Air, Inc. Board of Directors will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022,  at 7:00 p.m.

Important note: This month’s meeting will be held virtually. Participants can take part online or by phone. Above and below the agenda is the registration link for Monday’s Zoom meeting. You must pre-register to attend the meeting–this is to protect our public meeting.

If you have questions about the meeting or wish to add an agenda item, please email the Board at <board@kfai.org> prior to the meeting. The Board roster, contact information, and prior meeting minutes and financials are available at kfai.org/board.

KFAI Board meetings are open to the public; all interested persons are welcome to attend. The meeting will begin promptly at 7:00 pm.

Dollar Bin

It’s Season Four of Dollar Bin!

Today (Tuesday, Jan. 4) at noon CST on Irregular Audio you can hear the fourth season premiere of Dollar Bin! Dollar Bin is a presentation of musical items picked up for one dollar or less. It usually runs “an hour plus.” The program made its debut on kfai.org as a “web-exclusive” back on January 1, 2019 with Episode 001.  In all, 155 episodes (and a few “dubplementals” with episode numbers ending in “½”) have been produced over three years. Dollar Bin is presented by “Weekend on Demand” host CRZ, who has amassed an astonishing amount of cheap music over the decades. He says he’s partial to the 12 inch singles and remixes of the disco and electronic eras but “when it’s this cheap, almost anything goes that catches my eye – the piggy bank is almost always open!”  He also adds, “please ignore all the crates scattered about my house – I’m working on it!” Over the years, Dollar Bin has moved from kfai.org exclusivity to KFAI’s Mixcloud page, then to FA2, the Irregular Audio stream. The show streams at noon on Tuesdays, then can be found on demand in the archive at kfai.org for 14 days. Every episode is also archived on Mixcloud soon after broadcast. Dollar Bin 156 will debut Tuesday on kfai.org, FA2 and Mixcloud and includes selections from Donna Allen, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, Madleen Kane, The Silencers and other artists even more obscure but just as groovy. It runs about 75 minutes, so plan a long lunch!  If you like what you hear, all back episodes can be found on Mixcloud.

Fresh Air Incorporated seeks passionate, interested and qualified candidates for both the Board of Directors and Content Advisory Committee! The Board of Directors serve two year terms, while Content Advisory Committee members serve one year terms. The deadline to apply for upcoming terms is Saturday, November 13th.
