A message from Interim GM Ron Thums about the coronavirus and KFAI

As you know, our world continues to be rocked by the evolving threat of the COVID-19 virus. Despite our shared challenges, KFAI wants you to know that we are here and will remain here, on the air, as we have for almost 42 years.

We have taken multiple steps and instituted protocols to make your community radio station as safe an environment as possible for our many volunteers. From canceling meetings and incorporating antibacterial measures to literally reducing the number of people moving through the station, guarding the health of our volunteers and staff will remain our primary concern.

We have also taken steps to ensure that the KFAI programming that you enjoy and depend on is here when you expect it to be. We can’t promise that there won’t be times when it seems we are playing it by ear. But be assured that every one of the 87 weekly programs you hear has been created by our volunteers — your friends and neighbors.

“Social distancing” is today’s catchword, but that practice does not apply to radio. KFAI’s hosts are as close as your radio speaker, your computer, your phone. We are here for you, and together we will weather today’s challenges.

Be safe. Stay healthy. And thanks for being a KFAI listener.
