This program was a Black History Month special about Sharon Sayles-Belton, the mayor of Minneapolis from 1994 to 2001. She was not only the first Black person to hold the postion but she was the first woman as well.  The audio for this program was recorded at a policy symposium at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.  The event was held in honor of Sharon Sayles Belton, and we'll hear her comments about the day and about her time as mayor in the second half of the program.  The hour begins with a keynote speech from St.
