October 2015 Poquito y Bueno: A Short and Sweet Flamenco Show Archives

Viva Galicia once more! A show of farrucas, most without "cante" (flamenco singing). Then, thrown in for good measure, there's a garrotin that ends with tangos de Piyayo.

Farrucas have morphed into zapateados on this week's show, and as Kristina thinks of this as a horse-and-rider palo, she's dedicating the show to the heart and feet of dancer Jóselete (known to most as Joel Lagerquist) who just completed the 26-mile Twin Cities Maraton on October 4th. ¡Olé tú, Jóselete!

Stop what you're doing and just sit down and listen to this show. Do nothing else but listen, breathe deeply and shed a few tears from the profound beauty of this music – the adagio from the Concierto de Aranjuez, interpreted by both Paco de Lucia and Miles Davis, bless their souls.

It's mix and match week at PyB! Kristina focuses on flamenco singers who have a broadened their vocal focus from flamenco to…including (this week) Buika, Miguel Poveda, and El Cigala.
