This week, Bihi's guest is Abdifatah Farah, aka Abdi Phenomenal, a writer and spoken word artist.  

In 2015, Asma Jama was dining with her family in an Applebee’s restaurant in Coon Rapids when she was attacked – hit in the face with a beer mug thrown by another customer.  Jama’s attacker, Jodie Burchard-Risch, was upset because Jama, a Somali immigrant to the United States,  wasn’t speaking English.  

 

Last year in the Cedar Riverside neighborhood, a coach at the local school was inspired by three boys who set out to win a national competition sponsored by the global corporation SAP.  Their goal was to get money for sports equipment that could be loaned out to financially strapped students in their school.   Against overwhelming odds, Charly Tiempos, Hasma Osman and Said Adan topped the other contestants to earn ten thousand dollars and an all expenses paid trip to 2017 Super Bowl in Houston.    

 

Abdirahman Kahin came to Minnesota twenty years ago to study media production.  He opened a video production company to record meetings, parties, music videos and weddings.
