June 2012 Freewheelin' Archives

Thanks to Kevin Bowe for dropping by the studio today.  He brought his new CD Natchez Trail with him and we played a few tracks from it.  He also had a copy of the new Alison Scott release Hiding Under The Covers, vol. 2.   They're having a Double CD Release Party this coming Friday at Varsity Theater.  It'll be a great night of music and I encourage you to attend.

Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Butch Hancock stopped by the show today along with Sweet Mama J.  They're appearing tonight at the Cedar Cultural Center as The Flatlanders.  What an honor to have these legends across the board from me.  We chatted, played a couple tracks from an advance CD they brought in and had a good time with these great guys from Texas.  Okay, let's be honest.  They're Texas royalty.

"We Hope You're Ready For Flo & Eddie" + Kim Lenz + Old Californio interviews……..fun show today.  Started off with a surprise phone call by Kim Lenz.  She's so cool, we had to drop what we were doing to chat with her.  Her band, Kim Lenz & The Jaguars are coming back to town to play Lee's Liquor Lounge tomorrow night (well, that depends on when you're reading this, doesn't it?).  Thursday 6/21 it is, or was.

"We Hope You're Ready for Flo & Eddie" segment, Al Subola and Tinsley Ellis interviews, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Legendary Shack Shakers, Alejandro Escovedo, Mayall, Gatemouth Brown, Larry & His Flask, Imelda May, and lots of other goodies on this week's show.
