July 2013 The Pop Shop Archives

It’s hump day for the Earth, as we’re exactly half-way ‘round the orbital journey around the sun. Hear Izzy’s take on this celestial phenom, and celebrate Canada Day, eh?

Tonight’s Pop Shop is brought to you by the letter “P”!

Starting things off with listener requests, then getting into some “super sets” featuring Linda Ronstadt/Stone Poneys, Paul Williams/the Holy Mackerel, and Roger McGuinn/the Byrds. All this week on the Pop Shop!

Together again…at last! It’s a full house this week on the Pop Shop as Liberty Finch and DJ Izzy reunite for a show dedicated to duos, duets, couples, colleagues, collaborators, partners and pairs.

Bit of a technical hiccup at the beginning of the show, which kicks in about :30. This week it’s groovy tunes, new (old) acquisitions to the Lincoln Terrace Music Library, including Gary Lewis & the Playboys, the Everly Bros, Les Paul, and Tommy James & the Shondells. Plus a pair of birthday spins for Sir Michael Philip “Mick” Jagger, and a triple play for Willie Wisely, who’ll be performing at Icehouse on Tues, July 30. DJ Izzy and Liberty Finch will be at the at that gig, spinning before/between sets. C’mon down!
