May 2013 The Pop Shop Archives

On May 1, KFAI celebrated its 35th anniversary, so tonight the Pop Shop explores the music of 1978. With tracks by the Sweet, Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds, XTC, NRBQ, the Ramones, and of course, the Brothers Gibb. Plus, a ticket giveaway to Todd Rundgren at the Varsity Theater, courtesy of Sue McLean and Associates.

Lots to celebrate this week, as Minnesota becomes the 12th state in the nation to allow same-sex marriage, and Ms. Finch completes another revolution around the sun. Love and Liberty abound!

Guitar virtuoso, dandy, and man-of-a-thousand bands, Keith Patterson joins the Pop Shop this week, playin’ music and schoolin’ Liberty Finch and DJ Izzy on the world of mod.

DJ Izzy mans the board…so anything goes tonight on the Pop Shop. With lotsa special requests and new material from “Drink a Toast to Innocence: A Tribute to Lite Rock,” featuring Twin Cities ex-pats, Willie Wisely and Mike Ruekberg.
