The Pop Shop takes a trip to the psychedelic side…….acknowledging the 70th anniversary of Bicycle Day and the discoveries of Swiss scientist Albert Hofmann first person to synthesize, ingest and learn about the psychedelic effects of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD). On April 16, 1943, he performed a self-experiment, and less than an hour later was being escorted home—by bicycle—by his lab assistant. Hofmann died in 2008 at the age of 102. Tonight we free our minds and let the music carry us away……….
