We speak with Lorena Duarte and Kristin Naca about an upcoming event called Latino Poetry Now, which features readings by three distinct and dynamic voices in Latino poetry. This national series has been touring the country and now makes a stop in St. Paul.

Also on this week's show, we chat with Nick Hupton about his debut tween novel If I Know it's Coming, which tells the story of a middle school student who is a baseball fan trying to survive school when he learns that his mother – an Army nurse – has disappeared in Iraq.

We also talk with Louise Erdrich about her new book The Round House. She is a writer and poet who has won numerous awards, including a National Book Critics Circle Award for Love, Medicine, a Pushcart Prize in poetry and a Guggenheim Fellowship. She also owns Birchbark Books.

We speak with Sheila O'Connor about her new novel for young people Keeping Safe the Stars. She is also the author of Where No Gods Came, which won the Minnesota Book Award and the Michigan Award for Literary Fiction, and was selected as a Barnes and Noble Discover Great New Writers title.

We speak with Moises Velasquez-Manoff about his new book An Epidemic of Absence: A New Way of Understanding Allergies and Autoimmune Diseases. He has covered science and the environment for The Christian Science Monitor and his work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, the Chicago Tribune, and The Indianapolis Star, among other publications.

We speak with poet Tim Nolan about his new collection, And Then. He is also the author of The Sound of It, which was a finalist for a Minnesota Book Award. And Garrison Keillor has read his poems on The Writer's Almanac.

We also speak with Adrian Lee about his new book, Mysterious Minnesota: Digging up the Ghostly Past at 13 Haunted Sites. A former news correspondent for Darkness Radio, he is also a co-founder and lead writer for Ecto Magazine.
