Queer Arts & Culture on Fresh Fruit, Sept. 18 at 7pm with Dixie Treichel & John Townsend

Andrea Jenkins is an award winning African-American trans activist, writer, artist and performer who will host the first Minneapolis Trans* Equity Summit in Minneapolis. The Summit will serve as an introduction to the Minneapolis Trans* Workgroup process and provide a mid-point update to the community regarding the work outcomes to date. It is about empowering, inspiring, and uplifting the trans community as well as introducing the community to resources available in the City of Minneapolis.  Andrea also is co-curator of Intermedia Arts' Queer Voices Reading Series and a Senior Policy Aide to the 8th Ward City Council Member Elizabeth Glidden. The Summit is September 25, 2014 in the Auditorium of Humphrey School of Public Policy, U of M, Mpls, 1pm-8pm with keynote speaker Ancelica Ross.
