Feature Presentations - Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Orson Welles' broadcast of the War of the Worlds. We will bring you short versions inspired by that most famous radio show of all time. Ten of them are entrants to the War of the Worlds 75th Anniversary audio contest, by Convergence, the science fiction convention.
Tonight it's Red Invasion by the Audio Monks. Dan and Carol set out on a night ot stargazing. But the sky is lit up with a meteor shower and a leisurely evening turns into a fight for survival. Written by Maire-Rose Pike. Directed by Jerami Bellofatto.
And the second feature is Dialogue With Martian Trombone, from the Great Northern Audio Theatre. What happened to Ramon Raquello and his Orchestra, who were figuring that this was their big break on national radio, but the show kept breaking in to their music with this lame story about Martians. We take up the story at a recent reunion of the band. Featuring David Ossman and Phil Proctor of the Firesign Theatre.
Next week, three more WotW stories, and we offer you the opportunity to support Sound Affects by calling in a Pledge. Please do.
