Thursday, March 11th, Mark Mills calls in from the UK to talk about his third novel, The Information Officer, a novel of suspense, with a love story, set in the Mediterranean on the island of Malta during World War II. Mark Mills's previous novels are Amagansett and The Savage Garden.

Also this week, acclaimed author Kathleen Norris joins us in the studio to talk about her newest book, Acedia & Me: Marriage, Monks, and a Writer's Life. Kathleen Norris is also the author of The Cloister Walk, Dakota: A Spiritual Life, and Amazing Grace: A Vocabulary of Faith, among others.

Jay Parini calls in to talk about his fiction writing. A prolific author of fiction, poetry, and non-fiction, his 1990 book The Last Station: A Novel of Tolstoy's Last Year was recently made into a movie that was nominated for two Academy Awards: Best Actress for Helen Mirren and Best Supporting Actor for Christopher Plummer.

The release party is Saturday, Feb. 20th starting at 9:30 p.m. at Bedlam Theatre in Minneapolis and will feature performances by Guante, Sha Cage, Mankwe Ndosi, J. Otis Powell, Truthmaze, and more.

Thursday, February 11th, Thomas Mullen calls in to talk about his second novel, The Many Deaths of the Firefly Brothers. His first novel, The Last Town on Earth was named Best Debut Novel of 2006 by USA Today, was a Chicago Tribune Best Book of the Year, and was awarded the James Fenimore Cooper Prize for excellence in historical fiction.

Also this week, we talk with Erin Hart about her new book False Mermaid, the third in her mystery series combining forensics, archaeology, and history with Irish myth and mystery and featuring Nora Gavin and Cormac Maguire. The previous two books are Haunted Ground and Lake of Sorrows.
