KFAI's celebration of Black History Month was on February 25, 2011 KFAI . The celebration begans with three programs focused on topics of national interest, "A Small Southern Town: The Nation's Capital in Slave Times," "Malaga Island: A Story Best Left Untold," and "Race and the Space Race." While these three stories come from Public Radio Exchange, the rest of KFAI's BHM celebration is produced by African American's in the Twin Cities. Education, youth, gospel, work songs, dance songs, blues, healing, Black Pride, and Motown sounds encompass the breadth of content you will hear on KFAI's BHM special day of programming.
All locally produced programs will be archived for two weeks from the original air date.
