6/6/2007 Echo Chamber
No themes or live sets this week....just a bunch of great new dubs and reissued reggae gems. The highlighted artist for the show was Tokyo Tower from Germany. Besides cooking up some excellent remixes (for the likes of Noiseshaper, 2Raumwohnung, and Zooloft), Tokyo Tower (Michael Fiedler) produces some nicely chilled music all his own. The full album (from Mutan) is called "The Meaning" and it's well worth hunting down. Other new items featured this week included: Roots Man Dub, the new Heartbeat/Rounder 2-CD compilation pulled from the vaults of GG (Ranglin) Records; a new Dub Is A Weapon single (from their upcoming album); two super extended mixes from the Heptones (from the Heartbeat album "Sweet Talking"); a couple of Deep Root singles (including tracks from Zion Train and Slimmah Sound); a couple of excellent tracks from Niyaz and Ceu (on Six Degrees); the title track from Dubblestandart's "Immigration Dub" album; and even a brand-new Mutant Frogs track ("Warpville"). But there was still more fun... We had a few leftovers from last week's "Fistful of Dub" show, plus Willie Nelson, Montuno Police (feat. Rick Lazar), Hugh Cornwell, the Supersonics, Once 11, Tony Tuff, Euphoria, and more... It doesn't get any more diverse than this....and still sound this good.
