5/23/2007 Echo Chamber
Tonight's show was a dubwise worldwide trip -- with the excellent Six Degrees Records as the featured label. The Six Degrees segments of the journey took us to India (Midival Punditz), Brazil (Ceu), Iran (Azam Ali), Spain (Ojos de Brujo), Algeria (DJ Cheb I Sabbah), and the U.K (Bombay Dub Orchestra and The Real Tuesday Weld). The rest of the show took us to Sweden, France, Jamaica, and the good old U.S. of A. New U.S. releases included a self-titled EP from Pale Rider (an offshoot of Phase Selector Sound System from Nashville); a soon-to-be-released album ("Armed and Dangerous") from Brooklyn's Dub Is A Weapon; and the re-released "10 Ft. Ganja Plant Presents" on ROIR. From Sweden we had dubs from Finn the Giant and Flykicks. From France we included some crucial tunes from Kaly Live Dub, High Tone, Picore, Mei Tei Sho, Tektonic Chamber, and Wax Tailor. And finally, hailing from Jamaica, we included Rico, Tommy McCook, John Holt & the Aggrovators, Niney the Observer, and the Heptones. Also on the program: Ital Roots Players (UK), Vibronics (UK) meet Lobe (France), Phase Selector Sound (U.S.), JAHNO (UK), G.T. Moore & Roots Crusaders (UK), Jaz Klash (UK/U.S.), Ott (UK), Los Mocosos (U.S.) and of course Mutant Frogs (somewhere in outer space...)
