  • KFAI volunteers and staff are proud to welcome the organization's new General Manager, Leah Honsky.  

    Leah comes to us from Missoula Montana, where she helped launch a successful commercial radio station called "The Trail."  She has Minnesota radio in her blood – Leah's uncle Jack Swanson owned and operated KCAJ-FM in Roseau, MN, and she attended Brown Institute in Minneapolis – the alma mater of many of KFAI's illustrious volunteers.

  • Comedian Mike Winfield is in Minneapolis this week performing nightly shows at the Acme Comedy Club.  He has performed stand-up on The Arsenio Hall Show and The Late Show with David Letterman and also plays the role of Wes on NBC's The Office.  KFAI's Ryan Dawes spoke with Winfield about the comedy scene in Minneapolis, the role Twitter plays in his career, and about his process for writing new material.

  • With Summer in full swing the Twin Cities has an abundance of food sources for shoppers at farmer’s markets. Augsburg College and the West Bank Community Coalition have teamed up to provide two opportunities for fresh produce and other foods. These new farmers’ markets will begin on Tuesdays from 3-6 p.m. at the former Dania Hall site located next to The Nomad at 427 Cedar Ave. and Thursdays from 11am-2pm at the Augsburg College Ice Arena Plaza 2323 Riverside Ave.

  • Earlier this year, Minnesota United soccer fans in Minneapolis rejoiced at the prospect of a Major League Soccer stadium slated for a site near the North Loop.  However, team owner Bill McGuire has recently begun looking elsewhere as Minneapolis city officials have been so far unwilling to offer tax breaks similar to what were offered to the Vikings.  KFAI's Ryan Dawes spoke with soccer writer and podcaster Wes Burdine, who's covered these developments for Northern Pitch and the
