  • KFAI is now accepting proposals for a program opening on Sundays from Noon-1pm. Programming in this times slot is dedicated to serving the international and immigrant communities in the Twin Cities.

    Also we get a visit from Bill Marshall and Lady Tobalyas who will serenade us acoustically. Bill and Lady T entertained us last New Years Eve on KFAI.

  • KFAI is accepting your treasure-trove of new or gently used audio (LP’s CD’s..no cassettes) and DVD’s for resale at the KFAI Spring Record Sale, April 23-25th, held during the Midwest Mountaineering Outdoor Expo. You can bring your donation to KFAI during business hours, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, M-F and receive a receipt for your donation.

  • On behalf of KFAI’s board of directors, volunteers, and staff, THANK YOU to the 1,025 listeners who pledged $89,700 to KFAI’s Spring Pledge Drive.

  • Once again this summer, KFAI will host eight teenage girls for our fifth Youth News Initiative. The program is held June 22nd through August 13th, three days per week from 10am-1pm. The girls learn radio producing skills, job and economic readiness skills and have the opportunity to visit other broadcast organizations around the Twin Cities.

  • Minnesota lawmakers are currently wrestling with how to balance the state’s budget. KFAI understands the enormity of this budget problem, and recognizes that sacrifices will have to be made. However, one proposal calls for the elimination of important operating grant programs for public radio stations. Public broadcasters like KFAI rely on these state grants to serve our communities.

  • Tune into KFAI all day on Tuesday February 23rd to hear a full day’s programming devoted to celebrating Black History Month. You will hear music and discussion from 6am to 6pm produced by KFAI and members of the community.

  • KFAI invites you for an evening of great Cajun and Zydeco music, food, costumes, dancing and loads of fun as Louisiana Rhythms:http://www.kfai.org/louisianarhythms presents our annual *MARDI GRAS PARTY.

    The party takes place on Fat Tuesday, February 16th at the Eagles Club, 2507 E. 25th Street in Minneapolis.

  • The KFAI Annual Membership Meeting takes place, Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Walker Public Library, 2880 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55408-1957. KFAI’s Board of Directors will provide an overview of 2009 accomplishments, discuss plans for 2010 and answer questions from members, volunteers and community members. All are invited to attend.
