U of M Researchers Share Videos of Wolves Fishing

Wolves come in and out of the news from time to time, often as a source of contention between farmers and ranchers who want to shoot them, and conservationists who want them to be protected. It turns out, however, that some Minnesota wolves might be more like Minnesota humans than we once realized: University of Minnesota researchers have documented and published a study that shows wolves from one pack in Voyageur's National Park take advantage of certain weather patterns in the spring to go ... fishing.

Lead researcher Thomas Gable joined Paul Brohaugh recently on KFAI's Poetry, Science and Wrestling to talk about new understandings of what wolves eat, and how they do it.
