Blueslady Rose Robinson Takes One Last Spin in Her KFAI Time Machine

On Thursday, February 1st  one of KFAI’s longest running and best-loved programs will come to an end.  The Blueslady’s Time Machine, with host Rose Robinson, will conclude more than 25 years of weekly broadcasts.

Rose is an authority on the art form – from the Delta Blues to post War Chicago Blues and everything in between.  Her special last-week-of-the-month “Golden Soul” broadcast always focuses on the best of Rhythm & Blues and Soul Music.

While the Devil’s music fills her playlist, Rose has been an angel to KFAI’s  Thursday afternoon listeners through contests, giveaways and frequent requests and salutes, especially when she honors her fellow veterans on important holidays like Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day.

Listeners say: “With her soulful voice and deep knowledge of blues and its near cousins Rose Robinson is a Twin Cities treasure,” and “I listen to the Time Machine because Rose is just so real.”

We’ll be celebrating Rose during and after the broadcast from 2 to 4pm at KFAI’s studios at 1808 Riverside Avenue in Minneapolis.  Blueslady fans are encouraged to tune in and stop by to show some appreciation and respect for one of KFAI’s signature voices.
