A Special Edition of Soul Tools Radio

Toki Wright and Miss Britt of the KFAI program Soul Tools Radio did a special show on Friday, July 8, reflecting on current events.  Click here to listen.

Toki posted the above video and this message on Facebook - "I live, work, create, and have a family in Minnesota. Yesterday I drove on that same road as #PhilandoCastile. That could have easily been me or a loved one. We die because of a fear of Blackness. As an artist I've been saying the same thing for years and people shut off their ears and empathy. No longer a need to try and prove the obvious. You love me or you hate me. Here are some thoughts. Feel free to participate in the conversation. Ignorance gets the delete."

KFAI General Manager Leah Honsky made these comments to station volunteers, and Radio Pocho host Miguel Vargas shared them on Facebook:

"Friday we will be holding space on the air throughout the day to have conversations about the injustice that was done to Philando Castile, his family and our community. We will be featuring reports from our news team and Brittany Lynch and Toki Wright will be hosting a special program Friday afternoon from 4-6:30.

If you are a program host you are more than welcome to host guests or conversations as you feel fit. If you know of community events that we should be aware of please send Leah Honsky the information and we will share it. For all others, you are welcome to share your thoughts with us through our social media outlets, by calling in when our program hosts will be opening the phone lines or by stopping by the studio. Please know your voice is welcome, as it always is. "
