Bangal Men of Letters
Hosts Dolly Khandkar and Lena Malek present music, discussions in English and Bangla, and readings from two poets: Rabindranath Thakur, Asia’s first Nobel Laureate and composer of national anthems of both Bangladesh and India, and Kazi Nazrul, whose works inspired a movement against British presence in Bangladesh.
In today’s first hour we listen the music of SWAP recorded live at the Nordic Roots Festival 2006. SWAP a group of two Swedes and two Brits make fine undefinable music. Thanks to the Cedar Cultural Center, Northside Records, and Chris Dronen, recording engineer for making this all possible.
In the second hour we had live music in the studio with Trio Tippo, Don and Steve on guitars, and Terry on percussion.
