Also — a tribute to the late great record man, Jerry Wexler, new music from Irma Thomas and a tear it up set of soul covers from Charles Wright and the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band recorded in 1968!!
Remember when music came on 12 grooved black vinyl discs instead of long strings of 1’s and 0’s? We hark back (hark???) to 1980 with a complete album from Norrlåtar…Mikael Segerström, Hans Alatalo, Jan Olofsson and Hans Sandin. With Danish fiddler Kristain Bugge doint the introductory honors.
DJ Baby Swiss goes solo once again in the Echo Chamber. And, despite the fact that he arrived empty-handed (and had to rely on KFAI’s CD library), he cooked up a real fun ecelectic mix. Helping out the situation was the hand-delivered new King Tubby vs. The Assessor disc (Big Up Jeremy!). Loads of funn indeed.
