Guest Robert Perizzo speaks of his upcoming book with his own illustrations of the voyageurs and important indigenous, Quebecois, and French personalities of the 17th- 19th centuries in Minnesota. Songs of the voyageurs are played while old and modern French music fills the 9:00-10:00 PM time.

I had a VERY busy show this week. Two interviews that included live performances so not much time to play recorded music. One of the live guest Butch R Baker The Candlesticks will appear at the Lake Harriet Bandshell with a Tribute to Woodstock for the 41st anniversary of that event. So even though there weren’t a lot of today’s CDs, what I did play was meant to be a powerful reminder of the summers of Love and War.
Musica con Conciencia the theme takes us into the music that inspires action or at the very least makes us think. From musica de la revolucion Salvadoreña to salsa with socially conscious lyrics. We spend quite a bit of time in the 1970s, a hotbed of political and musical movement. Check it out.
