The first ½ hour presents music from Nicaragua and Guatemala. The second ½ hour includes some examples of music from the Latin American Wind Band tradition. The third ½ hour presents a few examples of music from the general area where Argentina and Paraguay coincide. The last part explores some “lunfardo” and presents a couple of stories told by the great Argentinean “cuenta cuentos” Luis Landriscina.
Every once in a while we cast a line out there and see what (or who) bites. Sure enough, when we grooved into Viva Tirada by El Chicano, the phone line lit up. It was El Chicano Guy, who has called us up on each and every plsying of this track for the past 10 – 15 years — we play this track maybe once every two years! Great to hear from him! Also on this show, new music from Flowering Inferno and Orgone!
