A bunch of new dub coming our way from Europe this week including: Mayd Hubb’s The Blue Train [France], Dub Pon Top from Finn the Giant [Sweden], and the new Sardinia Bass Legalize Visions of My Land [Sardinia]. All crucial releases… On top of this we did a nice Dub Flash Records:http://www.dubflash.com/dfr/index.php set to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
Today we began with Norwegian cow calling by local artist Peggy Larsen (live track), followed by Irish accordionist Martin O’Connor (Mulligan), Japanese epic music by the great biwa master Kinshi Tsuruta (ocora), followed by pan pipe music of the Are Are, of the Solomon Islands (Chante du Monde), flamenco music from guitarist Miguel de la Bastide (la Bastide productions), music from the great singer Dick Gaughan (Appleseed), music from Mahmoud Fadl and his Drummers of the Nile as they go South (Piranha).
During the second hour we heard music from Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny’s Mozaik (Compass), followed the flamenco master Manuel Torre (Mandala), then music from the Aborigines of Papau New Guinea in the Sepik Province (Playasound), then we heard from the great Pakistani Sufi singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (Multimedia), the we heard Native drum music from Owicakeyakapo (Makoche), and we finished of with a set of Irish tunes from the latest release by Patrick Street (Loftus).
