Just when you thought you had heard everything on the Echo Chamber, we put together a show that included 6 orchestras, Louis Armstrong (twice, plus 1 impersonation), Duke Ellington Count Basie, and an exclusive mix (from TurnTableTerrorist) in which the latest track is dated 1933. On top of this craziness, we did a bit of Reggae Christmas – with Yellowman, T.S.P.O., and What A Wonderful World (both the new Orb remix, and the reggae version from Stingers ATX and Sledge).
Today we began with music from Leos Janacek performed on accordion by Teodoro Anzellotti(winter winter), followed by music of Luristan by Ahmad-Ali Rezai (Mahoor), then music from Kurdistan by Amrollah Shahebrahimi (Mahoor), a live tune from Irish master accordionist, Paddy O’Brien, a Sufi song from Kurdistan (ocora), music for Kurdish tanbur by Ostad Elahi (Chante du Monde), Iraqi Kurdish musician, Temo (Playasound), the great Irish guitarist, Daithi Sproule, and we finished the first hour with a Kurdish mystic tune from Shahram Nazeri (Avaz Bistoon).
In the second hour we had in studio guest Todd Menton. Todd played a few live tunes and we heard a couple of tunes from his new cd, Dolmen Field (New Folk Records).
