The Echo Chamber’s annual Tuff Gong Tubby Tribute honoring Robert Nesta Marley (born 2/6/1945) and Osbourne Ruddock (died 2/6/1989). One man a legend the world round. The other, a legend in the reggae world, and a permanent influence upon recording studio techniques and technology.
Today we began with dutar music from the Uyghers of China (Chinese Label), then we had guest with live music, Aida Shahghasemi on daf and vocals, and Amirhossein Kiani on Tar and vocals. The hour was finished off with music by Iraqi, Amir el Safir (Safaafir).
During the second hour we heard music from two of flamenco’s greats, Fernanda and Bernarda de Utrera of Spain (Ocora). We then had music and conversation with local musicians Greg Herriges on guitar and bouzouki, and percussionist Troy Berg.
