Today we began with an interview by Hosmer Librarian, Roy Woodstrum with Dan Rein about Iranian and Kurdish Traditional music. We heard live music on the Iranian setar, and the Kurdish Tanbur.
During the second hour we had Drew Miller and David Stenshoel from Boiled in Lead and we heard music from their new recording Silver (omnium)
Featuring two music festivals in Morocco (Gnawa Sacred) in the first segment, followed by music from Iran and another anti-war message on the 5th year of occupation in Iraq. Global Beat ends this week with a visit to Zimbabwe on the eve of another election opportunity, looking back on the dream of independence 27 years later.
