New music this week from Al Green and Sonny Landreth. We also heard some Bo Diddley beat—we lost another music hero in him on June 2nd. If you missed the Rockhouse:http://www.kfai.org/node/83 from June 5th, be sure to catch it in the archives. Brother Tad did a great job of honoring Bo Diddley’s talents for us all.
During the first hour we listened to a concert of North Indian violinist, Kala Ramnath. It was part of a concert by the Indian Music Society of Minnesota in October 2007. Recording engineer was Dan Rein.
In the second hour we heard music from the Four Aces street music from Lima Peru (Topic), then we had in studio guests Norah Rendall and Brian Miller, treating us to there Irish Music. We then heard music from Kurdistan by Aliakbar Moradi and Parvin Namazi (Quartertone), we also heard an Irish song from Delores Keane (Dara), music from the Viet Nam folk theatre (Unesco).
