It's been years since we've had new music from African stars Daby Touré and Lura but both have new albums coming out soon and African Rhythms has exclusive tracks from them today as well as a wealth of other new and vintage sounds.

" – Un peu du la musique francaise… cette apres' midi' – " comme une overture…

Classic Chanson sounds from Paris !  Josephine Baker to 'Les Primitifs du Futur'… leads directly into the Sahara Tamasheq band "Terakaft" playing The Cedar this week !

After three songs from them we hear from the recently passed Western Sahara singer Mariem Hassan — and then onto an Algerian expat out of France now; Souad Massi.

In a duet with Souad is Daby Toure' from Mauritania & Senegal, they both sing a song entitled "I Won't Forget My Roots" !

This week's Chamber started of on a bit of a "dubbles" kick, with back-to-backs ranging from from coming-to-towner Lee Perry (tonight Wed. @ the Cedar!), to Alborosie, Digital Seal and  Captaine Cookie. The "dubbles" thing morphed into an "Echo Beach Pt. II" continuation of our annual summer's end special involvingthe sounds of surf, funk, electro-swing, with plenty of dub along the way.
