Minna in for Doug. Digital music the first hour, vintage vinyl releases for (most of) the second.

A very special night in the Echo Chamber as we presented our annual ALL-JAMAICAN special we call “One Fi Robert” dedicated to my late father-in-law. From 1962 and Jamaican independence, right up to the latest reggae hits from 2014, we hit all the bases. The artist list included: Derrick Morgan, Jimmy Cliff, Eric Donaldson, Dave Barker, The Maytones, Cornell Campbell, Bunny Lee & the Aggrovators, Bob Marley & the Wailers, Dubtonic Kru, Marcia Aitken, The Prophets All Stars, Cecile ft. JaRae, Toian, Niney the Observer, King Tubby, Justin Hinds & the Dominoes, Toots & the Maytals, King Stitt, Dennis Brown, Lloyd Robinson, Burning Spear, The Skatalites/King Tubby, Culture, Black Uhuru, Ras Takura, Etana, Chronixx, Gregory Isaacs, Augustus Pablo, Prince Jazzbo, Sly & Robbie, Ricky Chaplin, Toots & the Maytals, Cherine, The Mighty Diamonds & Ranking Joe, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry & the Upsetters, Michigan & Smiley, Delroy Wilson & the Aggrovators, The Gladiators, Soul Agent and the Soul Defenders, Soul Vendors, George Nooks & Prince Weedy, U-Roy, I-Roy, Little Roy, Thunderball, The Musical Intimidators, The Observers, Rupie Edwards, Techniques All Stars, Desmond Dekker, Lyn Taitt & the Jets, and Lyn Taitt w/ Leslie Butler & the Originals Orchestra. Of course we missed many reggae greats along the way…as 4 hours is not enough time. There’s always next week.

I spun perennial favorites over the decades of my life in celebration of my landmark birthday this week, and celebrating Scorpio birthdays this month, with requests from various friends with November birthdays.

Feature Presentation – continuing the series, Ruby Refreshed.  Part 2 (of 4).  It's the original Ruby, A Galactic Gumshoe serial with new music not possible back when it was made in 1981 by the ZBS Foundation.  Original music, and all the new music and sound effects additions are by Tim Clark.

Episode #483: The Happy Frankfurt, Johnny and Me.

On tonight’s program we spend some time at a number of drinking establishments – which is a change of pace for this program – usually we all go blind laying about on our EZ-Boy recliners… but not tonight!
