Eclectic

Feature PresentationRed Shift is a highly surreal audio experiment.  A polysci-fi religio-comic fantasy in five acts by Cat Simril, and presented to us from the Seem Real Theatre.  You'll find that it is impossible to follow, but that's not really the point, is it?  It's the journey, the language, and the questions, rather than the answers.  Performers include members of the Firesign Theatre, and cast from the Little City in Space and Shockwave, and many more.

Episode #475 Getting Sheared; Getting Gabored – during an Endless Bummer.  And who knew there was a cover version of a tune from the Seven Golden Men Soundtrack!

Tonight the long wait was over – with the debut of “Echo Chamber – Around the World in Dub – V. 5 & 6”, our 3rd dubwise compilation on Dan Dada records (available FREE on Bandcamp). From the new release we started the show with our pal Dubby Doo’s “.38 Special Dub” and Svaha Soundsystem’s “Destroyer of Worlds”. This was followed by Eclectic Roots Ensemble’s “Good Seeds” from the new “Best of Boom One Records vol. 1” album. And then came the brand new “Gold Dust” album from Earl 16 & Manasseh. More new music from Hayereyah (from the upcoming “Humility Before Honour” album); Second Sky (from the new “Touching The Surface” album on Rhythm & Culture); Yin Yang Audio; Bombay Monkey; and Bombay Royale (from the new “The Island of Dr. Electrico” on Hope Street). Finally, two more from the Echo Chamber – Around the World in Dub – V. 5 & 6 release: SXtheMadArtist with “Rainbow Off the Sky”, Ted Sirota’s Heavyweight Dub with “Scientific Strut (Live)”, and GuiDub with “ Hills of Science”. On top of these new tracks we had a brand new mix from The Groove Thief (of which we played half) titled “Stepping Between Reggae & Dub vol. V”. On top of all this we filled the show with an eclectic mix that included Secret Panels vs. The Assessor, The Clash, Pizzicato 5, A.R. Rahman, The Heliocentrics, Little Dragon, Propellerheads, HIRIE, Vieux Farka Toure, Zvuloon Dub System, and more…
