Willie Nile

About Willie Nile

The New York Times called Willie Nile “one of the most gifted singer-songwriters to emerge from the New York scene in years.” His album Streets Of New York was hailed as “a platter for the ages” by UNCUT magazine. He has been called everything from “a one-man Clash” (UNCUT) to “the next Bob Dylan” and his critically acclaimed solo albums have gotten rave reviews around the world. Bono, Lou Reed, Lucinda Williams and Little Steven are among those who have sung his praises.  Press raves about The Innocent Ones  (2011) included:

“Stunning!…THE rock’n’roll album of 2011!” –BBC

“One of the best singer-songwriters of our time.” –JAM Magazine

Willie Nile is touring in support of his latest record, American Ride.

An artist who has never been comfortable with being a major-label commodity, Nile independently released 5 albums in the past 7 years. Nile has recorded and performed with the likes of Ringo Starr, Tori Amos, Elvis Costello, Ian Hunter, Barenaked Ladies, and Lucinda Williams, who once said, “Willie Nile is a great artist. If there was any justice in this world, I’d be opening up for him instead of him for me.” He has appeared onstage with Bruce Springsteen several times, and Pete Townsend was so taken with Nile he personally requested that Nile open for The Who on their 1982 tour.

What Other People Have Been Saying...

“The impassioned voice, the sharp and soulful lyrics, the interesting shoes and large, Kramer-like hair which seems to grow thicker every year – Willie Nile brings it all into focus. Listen to this record.”  – Graham Parker

“… one of the most gifted singer-songwriters to emerge from the New York scene in years.” - New York Times

Willy Porter

About Willy Porter

Indie folk guitarist/singer-songwriter Willy Porter brings his righteous brand of finger-picking guitar style and rich songwriting for a night of high-test tunes and tons of fun. This Wisconsin native has toured the world sharing stages with icons Jethro Tull, Paul Simon, Tori Amos, and Jeff Beck. Willy possesses the rare gift to connect with audiences while transporting crowds with music that rearranges molecules and makes diehard fans out of first time listeners.

Willy’s touring in support of his new record, Human Kindness, a musically ambitious record that sets Willy’s blistering guitar picking against a big studio sound on a stunning book of songs about connection, compassion, and the human journey. The record features the talents of artists such as Natalia Zuckerman, Martin Barre, Carmen Nickerson, and Peter Mulvey to create a complete musical experience, from the anthemic Who-influenced “Freedom” to the lighter than air love song “Roses in the Rain” to the powerful wake-up call of the title track, “Human Kindness.”

Willy’s warmth and wit on stage keep people grinning, but it’s his music that keeps them coming back for more
