There's a lot of crap on the radio,
but there's only one
F R O M T H E P A S T
Do you know all the words to every pop hit from the 1970s and '80s?
Do the terms "Hot 100", "white-label promo", and "please request by number" set your heart aflutter?
Do your friends run screaming from the room when you explain that the three guys named Taylor in Duran Duran weren't really related?
Then it's time you tuned in to Crap From The Past, the pop music show for people who already know plenty about pop music.
Host Ron "Boogiemonster" Gerber has a soft spot for everything original in pop music, from the dizzying heights (Stevie Wonder, Tears For Fears, Holly Knight, Crowded House, Marshall Crenshaw, Jason Falkner...), to the stultifying depths (Stars on 45, MC Hammer, the Ethel Merman Disco Album, Milli Vanilli, anything on Kid Stuff Records...), to the spellbindingly odd (Peter Cetera singing in Japanese?!?).
As the old saying goes, "There's a lot of crap on the radio, but there's only one Crap From The Past."
Our mission statement, in Haiku form:
Pop music for those
Who already know plenty
About pop music
A more tangible description, in non-Haiku form:
Crap From The Past ...
Requests and whatnot can be sent to ron@crapfromthepast.com.
There's interesting discussion at our Facebook group. Really, it's best to go there, since it's updated FAR more frequently than this page...
