This is a binding agreement (the "Agreement") between you or the entity that is using this software to listen to KFAI’s mp3 live stream ("you") and KFAI, Fresh Air Inc.("KFAI"). By using this MP3 Player, you hereby ACCEPT AND AGREE TO REFRAIN FROM DOWNLOADING ALL OR PARTS of the associated programming contained within this portion of MP3 live stream to which you will be linked after agreeing to and accepting the Agreement.

Hear best picks on the Pop Shop, Bob Street, Spin with Cyn, Dart Gun Radio, Freewheelin', In Your Ear, Voice Cried Softly, Fubar Omniverse, Radio Antilles, the Minnesota Sound and True Brit. AND, tune in for special programming on Friday Jan 6, from 2-6pm, as guest DJs interrupt Louisiana Rhythms and the Sugar Shop for even more garage cuts!

I spun the Monks and '60s to present-day garage and garage-punk music as part of "KFAI Rocks" a week-long event in honor of Gary Burger of the Monks performing 331 Club this Friday. Joe Hastings (The Sex Rays, Hastings 3000) who was a member of the F* Knights when Gary Burger recorded one of their records, joined me spinning Burger/The Monks and favorite early garage and blues songs of the mid-60s.

1/3/2012 Write On Radio!

Tuesday, January 3rd, Sasha Suarez joins co-hosts Charlotte Sullivan, Ian Graham Leask, and Lynette Reini-Grandell to look back at 2011 and prognosticate what 2012 will bring for writers. Sasha Suarez is a writer and student at the University of Minnesota-Morris who has participated for several years in the Loft's Equilibrium program. Charlotte Sullivan is Write on Radio's specialist in children's literature. Ian Graham Leask is a small press publisher who will be leaving Scarletta Press this year to work with Tumblehome Learning of Boston. Lynette Reini-Grandell is a notorious procrastinator who hopes to do better this year.

In the second half of the show, Joni Cole calls in to talk with us about her newest collection of essays, Another Bad-Dog Book: Tales of Life, Love, and Neurotic Human Behavior. Publisher's Weekly said of it, "by the end of this friendly, honest book, the reader will feel much affection for Cole, her little brood, and her bad dog.”

Tonight's guest is Dan Newton, well-known local accordionist, who along with his Café Accordion Orchestra, will soon play in concert at the Cedar Cultural Centre. Dan will speak of the show at the Cedar and of his group's new cd, "Berets & Bongos".
Our program will also feature a wide variety of songs, both old and new, from a variety of French-speaking countries.
